Illness is universal but access to healthcare is not
Grace Community Health and Wellness Organization is a registered 501(c) 3 non profit organization, established on June 10, 2020, when Uganda and the world at large was being confronted by the COVID-19 pandemic. About the
FOUNDER.
Grace is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner in the United States who is passionate about promoting health and wellness as well as making a difference in people’s lives regardless of their background. Having grown up in Masaka District (Uganda), Grace occasionally visited her home village in Lwannume where the Grace-CHAWO initiative is established. Growing up, she witnessed people in her community living in intense poverty, which challenged many rural residents to access basic healthcare services.
Grace shares many stories where she witnessed neighbors and friends in her village losing loved ones to preventable illnesses due to limited access to basic health-care services. With her background as a health-care worker, Grace felt a deep sense of commitment to make a difference in rural communities by promoting health and wellness particularly to the less privileged.
