Grace Community Health and Wellness Organization is a registered 501(c) 3 non profit organization, established on June 10, 2020, when Uganda and the world at large were being confronted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our resolve is to rise above this health crisis and focus on improving the overall accessibility, affordability, and availability of basic healthcare and wellness services in rural communities
Our initiative journey began in 2019 by carrying out a needs assessment and deep ground research on how to improve
access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare in the rural community
that was already experiencing poverty.

Grace Nassanga – MSN, RN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Grace is a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner(PMHNP) in the United States who is passionate about promoting health and wellness as well as making a difference in people’s lives regardless of their background. Having grown up in Masaka District (Uganda), Grace occasionally visited her home village in Lwannume, where the Grace-CHAWO initiative is established. Growing up, she witnessed people in her community living in intense poverty, which made it difficult for many rural residents to access basic healthcare services.
Grace shares many stories where she witnessed neighbors and friends in her village losing loved ones to preventable illnesses due to limited access to basic health-care services. With her background as a health-care worker, Grace felt a deep sense of commitment to make a difference in rural communities by promoting health and wellness, particularly to the less privileged.
